The place
Ornate plasterwork, gilt mirrors, white linen, and a ceiling high enough that conversation disappears upwards. It is a room built in a century that believed dinner should take four hours, and it has not entirely been talked out of that. Come for an occasion, or come for no occasion at all, which is better.
Before you go
Ask for a table along the mirrored wall. You get the whole room in your peripheral vision.
