The place
By noon it is a postcard with too many people in it. At seven in the morning it is something else entirely: mist sitting between the old trees, wet gravel, rowers, dog walkers, and the particular silence of a city that has not started yet. Locals do not avoid the Vondelpark. They just go before you do.
Before you go
Enter from the Amstelveenseweg side and walk east. The light comes towards you the whole way.
