The place
Delft tiles, a chandelier that barely lights anything, and walls the colour of strong tea because that is what four centuries of tobacco does. It sits on the corner of the Prinsengracht and the Brouwersgracht, which is arguably the best corner in the city, and it has the good sense not to make a thing of it. The apple pie is the reason half the room is there.
Before you go
The upstairs room is the one you want in winter. Ask, because it is not obvious that it exists.
