The place

A sauna floating on the water at the Papaverhoek, with a Finnish sauna, two cold plunges and a terrace outside. Sessions are timed, 75 to 90 minutes, and you book a slot; there is a drop-in social sauna alongside the guided rounds. It is mixed, and unlike most Dutch saunas you keep swimwear on, so it is closer to a Nordic bathhouse than to a spa day.

Before you go

The Noord location is closed Monday and Tuesday and only opens from late afternoon on weekdays.
