The place
Built as work relief during the depression: thousands of unemployed men with shovels made an entire forest, a rowing course and a hill out of flat polder. It is big enough that you can get lost in it, which is not something you can say about anywhere else near this city. There is a goat farm, an open air theatre and miles of empty path.
Before you go
Bring a bike or you will see a tenth of it. The rowing course end is the busy bit; go the other way.
