The place
Amsterdam merchants used to build summer houses out here when this was countryside. The city grew around this one and somehow left it alone. There is a white stucco house, a formal garden behind it, a cherry tree, benches, and almost nobody. Walk through the gates and the traffic on the Middenweg stops existing.
Before you go
The garden is free and open whether or not you eat at the restaurant in the coach house. Most people assume it is not.
