The place
Laid out in the 1890s and still shaped like it: winding paths, a pond, old trees, and a scattering of monuments that make you stop and read. On a warm afternoon it fills up with the whole neighbourhood at once, which is precisely the difference with the park everyone has heard of.
Before you go
Buy your picnic on the Javastraat or at the Dappermarkt first. Both are five minutes away and both are better than a supermarket.
