The place
You take the ferry to Noord, ride out past the last houses, and within twenty minutes there are meadows, sheep and a dike with a row of small wooden houses on it. Durgerdam is officially part of Amsterdam, which is hard to believe when you are standing on the dike looking at the water with nobody around.
Before you go
Keep going to Ransdorp or Holysloot if the weather holds. The whole loop back is about two hours.
