The place
There is no name on the front. You stand on a busy street off the Rembrandtplein, find the right door, and step into a room that sounds like it is two hundred metres underground. Dark panelling, brass, low lamps, and bartenders who work slowly on purpose. It is the kind of place that made the rest of the city take cocktails seriously.
Before you go
Reserve. Walk-ins are possible but you are gambling with your evening, and the room is small enough that standing around is not really an option.
