The place

Narrow, crammed, and smelling of coffee and tinned fish in the best possible way. Shelves of wine nobody in the supermarket has heard of, olive oil, salt cod, custard tarts under a dome by the till. Five minutes from Centraal on a street that is otherwise going the way of every street near a station, and it has stayed exactly what it is.
